Appointment of Louis-René Dessureault as director of Cégep à distance
The general director of the Collège de Rosemont, Stéphane Godbout, is proud to announce the appointment of Louis-René Dessureault as director of Cégep à Distance. Mr. Dessureault will take up his duties on January 13, 2014.
Renowned for his expertise in combining innovation and technology, Mr. Dessureault brings to Cégep à Distance over 20 years of management expertise and an extensive capacity to resolve and perfect critical business processes and implement innovative service strategies.
He has a master’s degree in library and information sciences and a bachelor’s degree in teaching history. He recently finished an eight-year term as vice-president, Sales and Marketing America and Consulting Services at CEDEROM-SNI. There he actively contributed to the company’s strategic planning, in particular by designing and implementing a client-focused strategy and integrating various business technologies. His achievements led to a major increase in client satisfaction.
From 2003 to 2005, he served as national sales director, Business Solutions, for Sirsi Canada, where he was especially involved in strategic planning for market development and product marketing. And, as president and senior partner at Dessureault et Associés, he has assisted many businesses with strategic planning and positioning, a task that requires a keen aptitude for accurately interpreting and anticipating the business environment.
Over the years he has developed a very good ability to build trust through listening and understanding, to rally partners and teams around a shared vision and to communicate specific objectives. His skills as a communicator have earned him invitations to speak at a variety of platforms, including a lecture on competitive intelligence for the Chambre de commerce française au Canada (2013) and one on the challenges and emerging trends of information management at the Colloque spécialisé en sciences de l’information (2011).
His leadership qualities, experience and accomplishments clearly attest to his capacity to rise to this next challenge. Rosemont’s management wish him a warm welcome and much success in his new responsibilities.
