Succeed in sport and academically at the same time, it’s possible!

Alliance Sport-Études has the mission of supporting the perseverance and success of high-level Quebec athletes who pursue higher education. More than 1,500 student-athletes from the QMJHL and 50 sports federations benefit from the services and benefits of Alliance Sport-Études each session.

Services

Student-athletes registered in the Alliance Sport-Études program benefit from student-athlete status recognized in their educational establishment; this status allows them to receive educational support services adapted to their needs, such as:

  • privileged contact with the repondant sport-études and teachers in order to benefit from adapted educational services;
  • the possibility of adapting their school schedule according to their sporting needs;
  • the possibility of taking courses with the Cégep à distance and benefiting from individualized monitoring;
  • access to the Fondation Sport-Études scholarship program.

Admission Requirements

To be eligible:

  1. Have been admitted to a college that is a member of Alliance Sport-ÉtudesAND
  2. A) Be identified as an high level athlete by their sports federation through the Ministry of Education.
    B) Play on a team in the QMJHL, Junior AAA**, collegiate league**, M18 AAA, or on a professional team (NHL, AHL, ECHL, or European). For women’s hockey, be a member of a D1 team in the collegiate league aged 18 or younger (identified as prospects).
    C) Play on a professional soccer team (MLS, CPL, European League), a semi-professional team (Quebec League1 or outside Quebec), or be on trials for a professional club (outside Quebec).
    D) Be a referee member of the provincial elite officials program (PPOE), the provincial female elite officials program (PPFOE), or be invited to Hockey Quebec’s prospect identification tournaments. Be a member referee of the provincial excellence program (PEP) of Soccer Quebec.

** Players in the Junior AAA league or collegiate league are eligible if they are enrolled in a member college and are currently on the protected list of a QMJHL team.
