Concept: Difference

The difference of two sets A and B is a new set, denoted A\B, containing all members of the set A which are not members of the set B.

Graphic Representation

The area shaded in orange represents A\B.

Example

If A = {x | -1 x 5}

and B = {x | 2 < x < 8}

and A B = {x | -1 x < 8}
