Here are explanations for some of the terms used in the course and program descriptions.

Some courses have more than one option, as identified by various option numbers.

55, 65 and 75 | Multimedia course |
Number of hours
Each hour of instruction for a course represents a workload of approximately two hours. For example, a 45-hour course represents a workload of approximately 90 hours.
Pondération
1st number | Expected hours of instruction per week in a 15-week study semester |
2nd number | Expected hours of practical work per week in a 15-week study semester |
3rd number | Expected hours spent on assignments in a 15-week study semester |
Prerequisites
Absolute prerequisite | Course must have been completed with a grade of 60% or higher |
Relative prerequisite | Course must have been completed, but not necessarily with a passing grade (40% or more) |
Co-requisite | Course that must be taken concurrently with another course, based on college policy |

Prices stated in course descriptions
Regular course
This price applies to students registered in a program. The tuition fee is $2 per course hour. For example, the tuition fee for a 45-hour course is $90 ($2 x 45 = $90). If you are eligible for free tuition (see Fees – Status and free tuition), you do not have to pay the tuition fee but you do still have to pay for the course materials.
Non-program course
This price is for students who are not registered in a program. The tuition fee in this case is $6 per course hour. For example, the tuition fee for a 45-hour course is $270 ($6 x 45 = $270).

You must always pay for the course materials.
